ABOUT US

Dixie Paranormal Society of St George Utah is dedicated to proving the existence of ghosts. Educating the public, and help those who live with hauntings deal with their fears and experiences. We do not discredit the use of psychics, but instead use both low and high-tech electronic equipment to document and substantiate our experiences.  We do not use Ouija boards, or seances' to conjure or locate spirits.

 

We specialize in demonology and EVP's, and we have over 10 years of investigating experience. We have helped businesses, and homeowners in the St George, Cedar City, and the Southern Nevada Area.

We are a serious group of professionally-minded adults who believe that skepticism is healthy, and that all reasonable explanations should be ruled out prior to declaring an experience to be paranormal in nature.

We use various types of digital still cameras that include the Nikon COOLPIX S4300 which have been converted to full spectrum. In practice, specialized broadband/full-spectrum film captures visible and near infrared light, commonly referred to as the "VNIR"

This device is developed so that it can capture voices of spirits in real-time. It utilizes a millisecond adjustable Forward or Reverse frequency “sweep” technique coupled with a proprietary high frequency synthetic noise or “white noise” distributed between frequency steps.

It is also fitted with a FM frequency sweep which provides up to 119 new frequencies. These new frequencies range from 76MHz to 87.9MHz.

This is the standard Mel Meter. The Mel has digital readout precision pf EMFs displayed in a back lit screen with nightvision friendly red light. EMF stands for Electromagnetic Fields. It has a built in Ambient Temperature meter. Both EMFs and Temps have the ability to record High and Low. So one can leave the meter and go away and come back and see what lowest temp was and highest EMF reading for instance. A built in flahshlight The Mel meter also has an EMF burst mode which samples the EMF fields faster focusing all the capacity of the meter on EMF and then turning off the Temperature meter.

The K-II EMF Meter features a set of LEDs across the top of the device that activate when the device detects an EMF fluctuation or spike. The LEDs range from green to yellow to red making it very easy for you and your team to notice when a spike has occurred, this may also be accompanied by a cold sensation, visual evidence or an EVP.

Our members use various brands of digital voice recorders to capture EVPs (Electronic voice phenomena.)

The Tascam DR-05s are equipped with a pair of omnidirectional condenser microphones. These stereo microphones are tailored for natural ambient recording, with rich bass response and lower handling noise than most handheld recorders.

The built-in microphones capture a wide, natural frequency range suitable for any type of voice, nature or musical recording. A 1/8" microphone input is also available for adding your own stereo microphone or recording a line-level source.

Like most TASCAM handheld recorders, the DR-05 includes playback modes to loop a section of playback or slow it down without changing the pitch, perfect for learning new music. A built-in speaker is included for checking recording without headphones. The Level Align feature smooths out level jumps during playback to help you monitor your raw, unmastered recordings.

Other handy additions include a chromatic tuner and tripod stand mount.

A built-in stereo peak limiter prevents unexpected loud sounds from distorting your recording. Just flip it on to keep sudden jumps from ruining your takes.

Another recording mode is the Auto Level setting, which sets the level based on the sound level in the room. Other settings include a low cut filter, useful for removing rumble or wind noise when outdoors.

Microsoft's Kinect motion controller may have been intended to keep gamers moving and free from handheld devices while in the throes of play, but some intrepid explorers have been using it for a different purpose altogether: hunting ghosts.

Thanks to its skeletal-tracking and infrared-sensing capabilities, Kinect can "see" as many as six players in a room. What makes spines start to tingle, however, is when it seems to see more people than are physically present.

This Full Spectrum High Definition Digital Video Camera captures images reflected within both ends of the light spectrum - where theories suggest that spirits reside! Enhancing the camera's ability to capture light reflected in these frequencies has made this camera an effective and essential photographic evidence gathering tool.

The P-SB11 ITC Device is the most advanced "Spirit Box" on the market. The Ambient Temperature meter shows changes to colder or warmer temp which is great for determining a co-relation of a deviation in temperature when a suspected ghost voice is picked up. It also helps you further to keep your hands free and investigating in dark environments through the built in night vision friendly red LED Flashlight. 

Wavepad audio editing software is a full-featured professional audio and music editor for Windows and Mac. It lets you record and edit music, voice and other audio recordings. When editing audio files, you can cut, copy and paste parts of recordings, and then add effects like echo, amplification and noise reduction. WavePad works as a wav or mp3 editor, but it also supports a number of other file formats including vox, gsm, wma, real audio, au, aif, flac, ogg, and more. Dixie Paranormal Society uses Wavepad to clean up audio from our investigations, which allows us to determine if a clip has an EVP in it or if it can be rules out as something from the environment.

Photoshop is an image editing software developed and manufactured by Adobe Systems Inc. Photoshop is considered one of the leaders in photo editing software. The software allows users to manipulate, crop, resize, and correct color on digital photos. Dixie Paranormal Society uses Photoshop to examine photos taken during our investigations. The plug-ins in Photoshop allow us to rule out any not paranormal evidence.
